Frequently asked questions

Everything on shipping, returns, care, and our standard for fairness.

Shipping & delivery

How fast do you deliver?

We ship from a warehouse inside the EU. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland you'll usually have your order in 1–3 working days.

Are there customs charges?

Within the EU we ship DDP — duties and import taxes are included in the price, with no surprises. For Switzerland we show import charges transparently.

Do you ship across the EU?

Yes. DACH is our home, but we ship across the entire European Union and to Switzerland.

Returns & exchange

How long can I return?

You have 30 days to return a mochila — longer than the law requires. Returns within Germany are free.

Are one-of-a-kind pieces excluded from returns?

No. Even though each mochila is one of a kind, the full right of return applies — a non-personalised bag is not a custom-made good in legal terms.

The mochilas

What's the difference between single- and double-thread?

Single-thread (una hebra) is woven with a single strand: denser, finer, more durable — and at over 30 days, far more demanding. Double-thread is the softer, lively classic for every day.

Is every bag really unique?

Yes. Every mochila is handwoven and the run of colour emerges in the moment of weaving. There is exactly one of each piece.

How big is a mochila?

Most models are around 27 cm in diameter and 30 cm tall, with an adjustable strap of about 110 cm. Exact measurements are on every product page.

Care

How do I care for my mochila?

Hand-wash in cold water with a mild detergent, don't wring, and dry flat in shape. That keeps the cotton weave beautiful for years.

Fairness & origin

How do you ensure fair pay?

We work directly with a fixed circle of weavers, name them, and disclose what share of the price reaches them. We follow the ten principles of fair trade.

Isn't this cultural appropriation?

We sell the genuine craft of the Wayuu, made by Wayuu women, and we name the patterns, the origin and the makers. We copy nothing and invent no folklore — we give the craft a stage and fair pay.
